Selenocysteine (Sec) is an amino acid with the chemical formula C3H7NO2Se. It is found in a few enzymes, such as glutathione peroxidase, thyroxine 5' -deiodinase, thioredoxin reductase, formate dehydrogenase, glycine reductase and some hydrogenases.
