Resveratrol (3,5,4'-trihydroxy-trans-stilbene) is a natural compound found in red grape skin, Japanese knotweed (polygonum cuspidatum), peanuts, blueberries and some other berries. It is a powerful antioxidant produced by some plants to protect them against environmental stresses. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals, which are believed to be the cause of aging. Japanese knotweed is the plant source with the highest resveratrol content.
Function of Resveratrol
1. Anti-Aging:
Resveratrol can activate acetylase and increase the lifespan of yeast. The experimental results show that yeast cells divide from 19 times to 38 times, and the lifespan increases by 60 80%.
2. Protect cardiovascular:
Resveratrol can regulate blood cholesterol levels by binding to estrogen receptors in the human body, and inhibit platelets from forming blood clots and adhering to blood vessel walls
3. Anti-oxidation:
